The Development of Social Cognition Lab (University of California, Irvine)
Who Can Participate |
For 4- to 8- year olds |
What Happens |
The study will take place on a Zoom video call with a researcher! Selecting the “Schedule a time to participate” will take you to a booking website, where you can select a time and date that works best for you. The researcher will show your child images and tell some stories about different families in which the moms and dads are doing some work. Your child will need to answer some questions about how they think about the parents’ work (e.g., whether they think mom or dad worked harder in each scenario). |
What We're Studying |
In this study we are interested in what children think about the value of different kinds of work in a family context. According to previous research, the type of work (housework vs. outside work) and gender of the parent (mom vs. dad) might influence children’s evaluation of work value. We are interested in how children think about the division of work within a family. |
