Who Can Participate

This study is for 2- to 36-month-old infants. Participants must be in the United States.

What Happens

This study will take place on a video call with a live researcher! Clicking on the “Participate Now!” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works best for you. Your child will watch an animated video, and the amount of time they spend looking at a particular stimulus, vocal (e.g., laughing) and physical (e.g., reaching) behaviors will be recorded.

What We're Studying

We are interested in learning more about how infants evaluate other people’s experiences. People have experiences that are positive and negative and social (e.g., making or losing a friend) or physical (e.g., getting a hug or falling down). Our study wants to better understand at what age infants evaluate others’ physical and social experiences as positive or negative. We hope this will help us better understand how empathy develops!

Duration
