Bergelson Lab at Harvard (Harvard University)
Who Can Participate |
For caregivers of 13-26-month-olds |
What Happens |
Your child only needs to be present for the consent, and then you can do this study alone in your own timing. This study includes 2 surveys to help us learn about the overall learning environment. The 1st survey will ask you questions about the typical home routines that involve play and reading. This survey will also ask how those routines changed over time. The 2nd survey will ask about the words that your child says or understands. |
What We're Studying |
We already know that routines (such as playtime or bedtime stories) might affect what words children start to learn. However, we hope to learn how these routines change over toddlerhood and overall how routines and maturation affect word learning. To link these ideas, we have included the survey about routines and the survey about your child's word knowledge. This will help add to the research on how children learn new words overall and to the question of how children learn in their environment as their brain develops! |

40 minutes total (20 for the present survey and 20 for the second study that we email you) |
