Only children in the US are eligible to participate |
What Happens |
In this study, your child will watch several short videos of characters in a group in different scenarios that may get them in trouble. Your child will be asked by a recording to think of what will happen next within each scenario. |
What We're Studying |
The purpose of this study is to understand how children think about group membership and loyalty when someone does something that may need to be corrected, such as being punished. By participating, you will help researchers learn when children think punishment should or should not happen, depending on how loyal someone is to their group. While answering other questions such as: who should discipline other people? Do children think that people in their group should do nothing if the violator does not threaten the group? Do children think that group members will hold others accountable if someone displays disloyalty? What we learn may also help researchers better understand how children think about groups in future studies. |
