What We're Studying |
The purpose of this study is to understand how children learn new words. We are asking whether it matters what kinds of sentences a new word is used in. Some research studies suggest that children learn new words more easily when they come at the beginning or end of the sentence, rather than in the middle, but we still don't know a lot about this. We are working to understand what kinds of positions in the sentence are most helpful for children. The results might help us to design better supports for young children who are struggling to learn vocabulary. |
