UCCS Cognitive Development Lab (University of Colorado Colorado Springs)
Who Can Participate |
Children must be between the ages of 5- to 8-years-old. Must be able to withstand a 15-minute task, and reside in the United States. We only allow one child to participate per family. |
What Happens |
This study will take place on a Zoom video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Schedule a time to participate” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. In the study, your child will play a memory game during which they will be asked to remember child-friendly monsters. We will ask children to tell us what they remember about the monsters, including what color planet they lived on and what type of dance move they had. |
What We're Studying |
In this study we examine how children remember specific types of associations and how we might improve this ability. Specifically, we examine whether asking children to think about their memories during learning improves their ability to remember specific types of associations, such as the associations between an item and its movement or location. |
Duration |
20 minutes |
Compensation |
Families will receive a $5 e-gift card within 1 to 3 business days after participation. This e-gift card will be emailed using Tango Rewards which can be used at various vendors (e.g. Amazon, Target, ect). Please use this link: https://www.tangocard.com/reward-catalog to see the list of vendors. Children will receive a science participation certificate. |
