Child Brain and Perception Lab (University of Minnesota)
Who Can Participate |
ONE CHILD PER FAMILY! Child 4-6 years old and their parent/caregiver. Child and parent/caregiver speak English fluently and live in the United States. |
What Happens |
This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Schedule a time to participate” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. First, you will watch video clips of characters interacting with each other in various situations and share your opinion about the characters. For example, in one clip you will see an animal character trying to open a box and another animal character approaching them. Then, your child will watch the same clips and share their opinion. |
What We're Studying |
Previous research has explored the extent to which infants pay attention to certain characters over others. However, these character interactions have not been evaluated by children and adults, so we aim to fill this research gap. We are studying how children and adults characterize these actions in social or non-social ways. |
Duration |
Approximately 30-45 minutes, which will take place online through Zoom. Your portion will be 15-20 minutes, and then your child’s portion will also be 15-20 minutes. |
Compensation |
You will be emailed a $15 e-gift card through Tango rewards right after the study as a thank you for your time and effort. |
