Are the puppets telling the truth?

Are the puppets telling the truth?

9.S99: Spring 2025 (MIT)

Who Can Participate

For 6 to 9-year olds

What Happens

Your child will see conversations between a person and different puppets. After watching each video, your child will determine whether the puppet was telling the truth, compared to what the person has said. The puppets will be using either an 'or' conjunction or an 'and' conjunction, and your child will have to differentiate between the two expressions.

What We're Studying

The study is trying to figure out if 6-year-olds can solve problems that rely on logical reasoning or logical connectors (such as "and" and "or"). The results will help us learn more about how kids start to think logically and how their brains handle tricky logic problems. Specifically, the study explores whether young children can understand and apply the concepts of conjunction ("and") and disjunction ("or") in problem-solving tasks, which are foundational to formal logic and reasoning.
