Infant Learning & Development Laboratory (University of Chicago)
Who Can Participate |
This study is for 8- to 14-month-old babies. |
What Happens |
Your baby will watch a series of short clips. First they will see two people speaking alternatively. Subsequently, your baby will then watch the happy and angry faces of the two people. This sequence will then be repeated two times, with four different people presented in this study in total. |
What We're Studying |
The purpose of this research is to better understand how young children pay attention to positive (happy) and negative (angry) facial expressions. This study can help us understand how babies start to recognize and respond to emotions in others. |
Duration |
10 minutes |
Compensation |
Within one week of your participation, we’ll email you a $10 Amazon.com gift card as a thank-you. To be eligible for the gift card your child must be in the age range for this study, you need to submit a valid consent statement, we need to see that there is a child with you, and your child cannot have participated before in the study. We will send a gift card even if you do not finish the whole study or we are not able to use your child's data. |
