Lourenco Lab (Emory University)
Who Can Participate |
6-10 year old children located in the United States. |
What Happens |
This study will take place on a video call with a live researcher! Clicking on the “Participate Now!” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. During this 10-15 minute study, your child will listen to different job descriptions and answer questions about them. This research helps inform how people decide to pursue different fields or career paths. |
What We're Studying |
Previous research shows that people use different cues such as resources, gender, and social influence to make judgments about people before they even engage with them. This study will explore how children associate gender cues with people who hold different occupations. We will explore this by assessing how aware children are of the gender distributions in different jobs. Understanding children's perceptions of jobholders and different jobs will influence how we encourage participation in different fields or occupations. |
Duration |
