Apple Basket Bonanza: Who Gets the Apples?

Apple Basket Bonanza: Who Gets the Apples?

Princeton CoLab (Princeton University)

Who Can Participate

For 4-5 year olds

What Happens

You and your child will listen to a story where characters work together to collect and share resources, like apples. Afterwards, your child will be asked questions like, "Which one got 3 apples?" about how they think the characters will share the resources.

What We're Studying

We’re all part of different kinds of relationships where some people are in charge, like parents with their kids, teachers with students, or bosses with employees. Some leaders are in charge because they are strong and assertive, while others lead because they are smart and helpful. In this study, we want to understand how children think leaders in these different types of roles will share resources, like apples, with others in their group. This helps us learn more about how children understand fairness and leadership, which can help us better understand how they think about people in charge in their everyday lives.
