Who looks happy?

Who looks happy?

Affective Cognition Lab (University of Toronto Scarborough)

Who Can Participate

For children ages between 1.5 and 2.5 years old who learn English as their first language.

What Happens

Your child will see pictures of children showing different emotional expressions, and hear prompts like "who is happy?" We want to see which picture your child looks at!

What We're Studying

Children hear and learn new words every day. In this study, we want to know how children match emotion words like “happy,” “sad,” "angry," and "scared" to emotional expressions that they see in the world. Understanding emotion words is critical to children's social and emotional development, and this study will help us find out when young children have these abilities.

Duration
