Game Boxes!

Game Boxes!

Affective Brain Lab (University College London)

Who Can Participate

For 13-17 years old.

What Happens

Your child will see many pairs of activities. For example, an activity in which a real animal is shown and an activity in which a fantasy animal is shown. Your child will rate how much they liked each activity in the pair, and will then choose which activity to do again. There will be 12 pairs in total. At the end, we will ask you to fill in a quick survey with questions like how many years you continued in education and the size of the city where you grew up.

What We're Studying

Cognitive activities such as reading, playing games and learning new things are enjoyable.
This study investigates what makes different cognitive activities enjoyable, how children change their preferences as they get older, and whether these preferences generalize across different cognitive activities.

Duration

20 minutes

Compensation

The child needs to be visible at some point, and you will be paid only one voucher per child doing the experiment. We will email you a $5 Amazon.com gift card within a week.
