Mars Mission

For 6-to-8 year-olds

This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Participate Now!” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. During the study, your child will complete a short (10-15 minute) game where they help a friendly robot navigate back to their home on Mars. In this study, we are interested in how children decide where objects fit.

We are interested in how children determine which images or objects are similar. We are also trying to see how children's motivation affects how well they are able to match up similar objects. Our study aims to answer a few questions about this relationship:
Does increased motivation lead to better performance at these tasks? What experiences can affect children's motivation?
