What Happens |
This study will take place on a Zoom video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Participate Now!” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. In this study, children will play an interactive hide-and-seek coin game. They will first watch how different characters hide behind colorful doors and look for patterns in their hiding. Later, they’ll try to guess where each character will hide to win coins. |
What We're Studying |
This study explores how children learn and generalize patterns they observe in the world. Specifically, we’re interested in how they decide when to explore more to gather information and when to use what they’ve already learned to make a prediction. Understanding how children reason about hidden patterns helps us learn more about how they actively learn, explore, and make sense of new situations. |
