Computational Cognitive Development Lab (Harvard University)
Who Can Participate |
For English-speaking children ages 5 to 10 years |
What Happens |
Your child will watch a short video of a teacher and some students working on a class activity. Then, we'll ask your child a few questions about what happened in the video. Your child's responses to these questions will help us figure out how kids learn from the people around them! |
What We're Studying |
We're interested in the factors children are sensitive to when they're learning from other people. In past work, it has been found that children pay attention to things like how much information teachers show, or how interesting the things are that they teach. But do children also think about how much teachers’ feedback is uniquely tailored to individual learners? Answering this question will help us understand more about the cognitive processes that help people learn from others around them starting in early childhood. |
Duration |
10 minutes |
Compensation |
We will email you a $5 Amazon.com (USD) gift card within a week of your participation. To be eligible for the gift card, your child must meet all eligibility criteria (e.g., be in the age range for this study), and you must submit a valid consent statement in which your child is present. Limit one gift card per child. |
