What We're Studying |
The purpose of this study is to understand how to enhance children’s learning during storybook reading and storytelling at home. Previous research has shown that interactive storybook reading can boost children’s language and literacy skills. However, it is not yet clear which specific strategies are most effective for engaging children and supporting their learning in this context. Our study builds on this by investigating how parents engage in reading two different types of storybooks (word vs. wordless) with their children. This study is important because it will help researchers better understand the most effective ways to support fun and educational storybook reading at home. The findings could inform the development of future educational interventions and teaching approaches, ultimately contributing to better learning outcomes for children. |
