Thinking About the Past and the Future

Thinking About the Past and the Future

Culture & Cognition Lab at Cornell (Cornell University)

Who Can Participate

Americans living in the USA; children aged 12 - 17

What Happens

We are interested in how children remember their experiences from the COVID-19 pandemic and how they think about their country's future. They will be asked to write down their experiences and thoughts, and they will have to rate a few statements.

What We're Studying

The aim of this study is two-fold: for one, we are interested in how children remember their experiences from the COVID-19 pandemic, how they think about it and how it has influenced them. We are also interested in the way children think about their country's future: adults typically think about their nation's future in a negative way, and we would like to see whether children show the same pattern.

Duration

20 minutes

Compensation

After you finish the study, we will email you a $15 Amazon gift card (US store only) within approximately one week. To be eligible for the gift card, your child must be a United States citizen living in the USA, and they must be in the specified age range for this study. You need to submit a valid consent statement, and we need to see that there is a child with you.
