Drop and Discover

For 9- to 10-year-olds

This study will take place on a live Zoom video call with a researcher. Clicking the “Participate Now!” button will take you to an online calendar where you can select a convenient date and time. During the study, your child will explore a virtual world by dropping objects and watching how the environment reacts. We will learn about children’s learning preferences and problem-solving strategies.

This study investigates how children learn and explore tools that create different effects - some big, some small, and some more varied. We are interested in which actions children choose when they explore and attend to novel situations they have not encountered before.

Participants will receive a $5 gift card redeemable on Amazon.com after the study. Only one gift card will be rewarded per participant. The child participant must belong to the suitable age range of the study and must be visible in the entire experiment.
