Harvard Lab for Developmental Studies (Thomas) (Harvard University)
Who Can Participate |
Participants must be between 6-8 years old and based in the US. |
What Happens |
In this activity, your child will watch two stories about different groups of characters building either a garden or a well. The groups will each have different ways of making decisions. After each story, your child will then be asked questions about what happened, as well as what the characters will do when they disagree with one another. |
What We're Studying |
In this study, we hope to learn how children think we go about disagreement in group contexts. Specifically, we want to 'replicate' the results of an identical version of this task we've run previously. This will help us ensure that our findings are reliable and generalizable. Broadly, these results can help us understand how children expect people to respond across a diverse set of group experiences/dynamics (e.g., within family, amongst peers, in the classroom). |
Duration |
10 minutes |

Participants will receive a 5$ Amazon.com gift card within two weeks of participating in the study. To receive payment, participants must be within 6-8 years old, remain visible in the consent video and be based in the US. (You may only receive payment for this study once) |
