Early Childhood Cognition Lab (Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT))
Who Can Participate |
For 4- to 5-year-olds |
What Happens |
In this study, you and your child will watch two short videos of Elmo and Grover meeting friends. In each video, the puppet tells a story to a person. Sometimes the person is paying attention, and sometimes they get distracted. While watching, your child will be asked a few simple questions about what the people in the videos might be thinking about. |
What We're Studying |
We are interested in how children figure out what other people are thinking about. Prior research shows that children can use where someone is looking to figure out what they know. In this study, we are exploring whether children also use where someone is looking to guess what they are thinking about. |
Duration |
10 minutes |
