Come Drum With Me!

Come Drum With Me!

Auditory Development Lab (McMaster University)

研究・調査への参加資格

Children must be between 2.5 and 3.5 years old

研究・調査の流れ

For this study, you will need something your child can use as a drum — this could be a toy drum, a real drum, or an everyday object like an upside-down bowl or pot. At the beginning of the study, you will complete a short questionnaire with questions such as whether your child has attended early music, dance, or drama classes, and whether they regularly hear music at home. After that, your child will watch a video and take part in a simple drumming activity with animated characters on the screen. They will see different characters who drum at different speeds and with different rhythms.

現在の研究・調査

We’re studying how preschoolers learn to move in time with someone else during a drumming activity. Understanding what helps children synchronize (like familiar partners or simpler rhythms) is important because shared timing and coordination are thought to play a role in how kids connect, communicate, and cooperate with others.
