This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the "Schedule a time to participate” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you.
In this study, your child will listen to some stories and point to some pictures on the screen. We will ask questions about what a person might do in a given story to see what children expect others to do!

現在の研究・調査

People act on their inner thoughts, such as what we want or what our goals are. We will look for our keys in the bowl next to the door because we think they are there, while in fact we have left them in our bag. Understanding this relationship between our thoughts and actions is essential for understanding why others act the way they do! In daily life, children are great at navigating the social life with their family and peers, yet younger preschoolers might find these kind of problems more challenging.

In this study, we are interested in seeing what children expect others would do and whether that relates to how well they can control their own actions. This will help us understand if children can differentiate between what themselves or someone else would do!
