研究・調査の流れ

During the study, your child will play a game that involves stopping a spinning wheel at the right moment. In between the spins, we will ask your child a few questions: how much control they felt they had, how difficult the game was, whether it felt stressful, whether they tried to change how they felt, and whether they thought it was worth putting effort into the game. At the end, your child will answer 42 questions about how often they feel different things. Some of these are negative experiences, for example, how often they think about death or if they feel worthless.

現在の研究・調査

We are interested in studying how feelings of control relate to different ways of coping, such as regulating our emotions or tackling a problem. By seeing how your child responds in our tasks, we can learn more about how children develop ways to cope and how this might change as a function of how in control they feel.
