研究・調査の流れ

Your child will see videos and pictures and listen to short fun facts about a new animal. Then, your child will be asked some questions about the new animal. Sometimes, another child will disagree with your child's answer, and sometimes another child will agree with them. After the disagreement or agreement, your child can continue learning about the animal by looking at more pictures and listening to more fun facts. At the end, they will also be asked about what they learned.

現在の研究・調査

As adults, experiencing that others disagree with us can spark our curiosity. We might wonder, "Could I be wrong?", and turn to Google or consult a book to find the correct solution. In this way, the experience of disagreement might prompt us to learn something new that otherwise we would not have learned! In this study, we aim to explore whether children share this same curiosity when faced with disagreements. Specifically, we want to see if disagreements prompt children to be more motivated to look for additional information, and to learn more about a topic, compared to agreements.
