This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Participate Now!” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you.

During the study, your child will see pictures of objects in different positions. In each scene, your child will be asked if the pictures are alike or not. Your child will then be asked to answer the question with "yes" or "no".

The purpose of this study is to explore how language influences our perceptions of spatial relations between objects (e.g., cereal IN a bowl; cat lying ON a bed). Specifically, does hearing descriptions of pictures that use similar prepositions, such as "the baby is IN the pool" and "the cereal is IN the bowl", lead one to perceive the situations as more similar than when they are described differently from one another, such as "the baby is IN the pool" and "the cereal is ON the bowl". Exploring this question helps us understand what factors influence how we think about the world around us.

To receive compensation for the study, your child must be in the age range (3.5-5 years). Additionally, compensation is only one per child. It will take between 1-2 business days to receive compensation.
