研究・調査の流れ

This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Schedule a time to participate” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. You will then fill a survey form to answer several questions about your child's curiosity behaviors. In the video call, your child will be asked to help Ottie, the octopus search for hidden food (choose 1 between 2) which differ in their size and certainty status.

現在の研究・調査

Previous research has shown that young children before age 4 struggle to understand possibility concepts. The purpose of this study is to better understand how children make decision between a guaranteed outcome and a mere possible outcome. Specifically, we want to investigate how children’s exploration of non-optimal choice is affected by the cost of exploration.
We are inviting you to participate in this study because children ages three to four are at a key developmental stage where they often make non-optimal choices in such tasks.
