研究・調査の流れ

Your child will play a learning game. They will be shown objects they may have never seen before, like a rare instrument. In the game a wizard transforms pictures of these instruments in a way that might make them difficult to recognize. For example, he may transform an instrument so it appears as an outline. Your child will see the transformed image flash very briefly, and they will be asked to say what they saw out loud. For instance, if they were just introduced to a wug, they may be asked a question such as “Did you just see a wug or a boff?” and they would have to say “wug.”

現在の研究・調査

By the time children enter school, they have learned the names of many objects. We are trying to understand what kind of visual information children use to learn a new object category, like an object's shape or individual details. Your child’s ability to learn new items will help us understand what cues help children learn new object categories.
