Do Babies Link Emotions with Fairness?

For 13 to 17 month-olds. Each child can only participate a single time.

In this study, your baby will sit in your lap and see a series of short videos showing one person sharing cookies with two other people. The two people receiving the cookies will either display a happy or sad facial expression. We will record your child's looking behavior as they watch the videos.

We are interested in how babies use information about emotions in their understanding of fairness. Specifically, we are curious if infants expect someone that receives less resources than another person to be sad, and someone that receives more resources to be happy. Knowing how babies integrate emotions and fairness can help us understand how babies learn about morality.
