Participation involves completing an online survey on Qualtrics that takes around twenty minutes to complete. One co-parent will complete a series of questionnaires including demographics about you and your child, an autism severity scale, scales measuring attitudes towards neurodiversity, measures of mental health functioning (including stress, anxiety, and feelings of burden), and finally a measure of social support. Participants are then encouraged to share the survey with their partner. Then the other co-parent will complete the same survey. |
現在の研究・調査 |
We are interested in understanding the differences between co-parents mental health and attitudes surrounding their child's autism. This study will assess the degree to which parental attitude similarity will predict caregiver mental health, and whether social support plays a role in this relationship. We are also interested in characterizing the experiences of fathers of children with autism as they are significantly underrepresented in existing autism research. |
