This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Participate Now!” button will send you to an calendar page to schedule a Zoom call with you and your child. During the Zoom call, your child will complete a couple of response time tasks, a reading test, a math anxiety survey, and a test of their number sense. You will complete a math anxiety survey and a survey about you, your family, and your thoughts on math.

The purpose of this study is to determine how features specific to your child, such as their number sense and math anxiety level, impact their cognitive processing on tasks related to math. Additionally, previous research has shown that parents’ views and emotions related to math impact how their children feel about math. The information you provide about yourself will help us to examine that relationship. We hope that by learning more about how math anxiety impacts cognitive processing and attention that we will be able to better identify math anxiety in children.

We will email you a $10 Visa e-gift card for your child at the end of the research session. To be eligible for the gift card 1) your child must be in the age range for this study for this study, and 2) you'll need to complete an informed consent form and your child an informed assent form. Each child is eligible to participate in the study and receive a gift card only once.
