Math Curiosity

CoDE Lab (Fordham University)

Who Can Participate

3rd to 4th-grade students in the US who speak English.

What Happens

This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Schedule a time to participate” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. Once you have signed up, we will email you a link to the electronic parental consent form and a brief 10-item math survey (e.g., 'My child likes learning new things in math'). Please ensure both the consent form and survey are completed prior to your scheduled session.

What We're Studying

We are interested in investigating the role of math curiosity in learning, how it helps children understand math concepts, and whether it is associated with math knowledge. Specifically, we explore how often children seek feedback and how long they persist when they answer a math problem.

Durata

30 minutes

Compenso

You will receive a $10 Tango card, and your child will receive a study completion certificate. To receive compensation, your child must remain visible throughout the session. Compensation will be received within a week of the study session.
