What Happens |
This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Schedule a time to participate” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. It involves a single scheduled session that lasts about 30 minutes. All sessions are conducted over Zoom. You will be asked to participate in one of the activities (a short book-reading task). Additionally, we will ask you to complete brief questionnaires about your child’s language background and to collect standard demographic information. |
What We're Studying |
In this study, we’re exploring how children understand and categorize different types of words. Your participation will help us learn more about how children conceptualize and categorize words, and the role that language and caregiver input might play in this important developmental process. During the session, your child will engage in a series of activities. These include listening to short stories about other children, looking at pictures of people expressing different facial expressions, and answering simple questions about how the characters might be feeling. Some tasks will involve your child labeling or identifying expressions, while others will ask them to choose between different responses to a situation. |
Duración |
