How do they feel?

How do they feel?

Affective Cognition Lab (University of Toronto Scarborough)

Who Can Participate

For 8-10-year-old children

What Happens

Your child will hear short stories about people experiencing an event, and will be asked to predict how the people feel. For example, they will hear a story about a girl wanting a snack. They will be asked, "How does Kate feel?" and they can respond using the happy face scale provided.

What We're Studying

The ability to predict how other people feel is important for children’s social lives. In this study, we will tell your child some stories about people wanting a snack. We are interested in how your child predicts the people’s emotions. This study will help us learn how children understand other people’s emotions!
