For 5 to 8 year olds

This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Schedule a time to participate” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. Your child will be asked some questions about natural objects (e.g., ponds).

We know from past work that children can provide a variety of answers to questions about outside objects, but sometimes these answers are influenced by other factors, like the kinds of answers children may hear an adult provide. In the absence of a model or another factor, we are interested in how children answer questions about things they may see in the natural world. This matters because it is important to understand how children naturally understand the outside world, when they are not subject to anyone’s influence.
