Which dots match the sound?

for 6 to 12 month olds.

In this study, your baby will watch a series of moving dots while listening to sounds that continuously rise or fall in pitch. There will be one group of dots moving up the screen, and on the other half of the screen a different group of dots moving down.

The purpose of this study is to learn whether babies associate upward motion with sounds that rise in pitch and downward motion with sounds that fall in pitch. One previous study found that babies make this connection. We are interested in whether babies make the same connection when listening to a special type of sound that seems to rise or fall continuously. By studying these responses, we hope to learn more about how babies understand and connect what they see and hear.
