                            Who Can Participate |
                        Spanish-English bilingual 1.5-2 year olds |

                            What Happens |
This study will take place on a video call, live with a researcher! Clicking on the “Participate Now!” button will send you to an online calendar where you can select a date and time that works for you. Your child will watch and listen to a 3-minute video with sentences with language switches and be asked by an accented speaker to look at different objects on the screen. You may also be asked to participate in a short 25-minute structured conversation, via phone call or Zoom, about your child’s language exposure. |

                            What We're Studying |
Many bilingual people switch between two languages and might speak one of them with an accent. For example, someone who speaks Spanish as their first language might speak English with a Spanish accent. We're curious if having an accent makes it harder to notice when someone switches languages. This study tests specifically if Spanish-English bilingual children have a harder time noticing when someone switches languages if the speaker has an accent. |
